BNP's Design Your Own Park Competition Makes Short List For Philips Livable Cities Award

The Philips Livable Cities Award is a global initiative by the Philips Corporation designed to generate practical, achievable ideas for improving the health and well-being of peo

ple living in cities. The BNP’s Design Your Own Park (DYOP) Competition is one of nine entries that made the short list, out of 450 entries submitted worldwide.

In a sense, DYOP has already won by making the shortlist. It will be publicized along with the other short-listed entries on the livable cities website and TV commercials on CNN. A distinguished panel of judges will decide the first, second, and third place entries, which will receive cash prizes of 75,000, 25,000, and 25,000 Euros respectively. The public also gets to cast a vote by visiting the livable cities website between February 10 and March 24. The award ceremony will take place in Amsterdam on April 27, 2011.
This is an opportunity for Binghamton to become known around the world as a city that is taking charge of its

a preliminary design from the landscape architect and looking for input from all interested parties. It”s not too late to tell us what you want to see in your neighborhood”s first off-leash dog park.
